Mentally Healthy Universities is a framework for universities to better understand the needs of their student's and staff's mental health. We worked with Universities UK to develop a striking visual identity designed to create impact and engagement across the 140 universities they represent in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Mental health can be a difficult subject to visualise and where stock photograpy is concerned we risk one cliché after another. Our approach was to use components of stock photography in a positive photo-collage style; allowing us to create many different scenes that speak of the ups and downs of life at university for students and staff.
We like digital-first publications and Mentally Healthy Universities is a good example of a document that's going to work as well for University Vice Chancellors on their iPad's, as it does in-print in the smaller and more environmentally-friendly run that accompanied it.
